BRINGING YOUR BANNER INTO THE GROUND
The club have contacted us and have agreed that flags which are 2m wide, 1m in depth will be allowed into the ground. This will be without a safety certificate or any kind. Anything larger would need a certificate. This is enforced by Trafford Council and not the club itself. A statement will follow on the club website and the club were eager to help in future in anyway they could. Obviously anything offensive would not be allowed in. Sticks are also currently prohibited. All stewards will be made aware of the clubs stance.
So there you go we have a green light to be creative. Home made banners don’t cost a great deal. We don’t have lots of time before Reading but a future banner day is in the pipeline.
Any other larger banners that you want to take on the march can be stored. If you want to email us we’ll pass you on the details to you.
Firstly we’d like to thank Sir Alex Ferguson for every fantastic memory the great man has given us in over a quarter of a century. Not one football fan in the world doesn’t think of his name and Manchester United and does not associate the two with being something special and being somewhat of a pinnacle. They broke the mould when they made him and we owe him one hell of a send off.
THE PLAN - WE’RE ON THE MARCH WITH FERGIE’S ARMY!
We’ve been in contact with Red Square and they are happy to work with us to mark the occasion against Swansea. Fellow Reds are encouraged to turn up in classic United tops from Fergie’s era, make home made banners celebrating the great man and show some colour by bringing old or old style scarfs. We’d encourage you to get in early, we’ve arranged for some original footage taken from the Fergie era from old Match of the days and the like to be shown on the big screen. At 3:30 we will set off to the ground on mass, marching round the ground before going in. Previously when we’ve gone under the stands at Old Trafford its sounded brilliant and is testament to the potential to get Old Trafford back to what it should be. Sunday he deserves our best from.
THE PLAN - PARADE DAY
We’re proposing a meet in the Nags Head pub, Jackson Row off Deansgate. Again with the aim of getting the songs going before spilling out and welcoming the team on there way to the Town Hall where Fergie is due to address the crowd. More details on this plan are to follow.
THE PLAN - LIVERPOOL U21’s are back!
For the recent under 21 game against Liverpool which ended in a 1-1 draw fans were encouraged to meet in the top corner of the North Stand by J Stand. The atmosphere created by those that attended was impressive and we’re proposing to do the same again for the semi final against Liverpool. Songs carried outside the ground afterwards and on the tram back into town. It was a fine effort from everyone involved. Let’s ram number 20 down their throats one more time for fun! The game takes place Tuesday 14th May, 7pm kick off. Adults are £5 to get in, children £2 and those with a season ticket get in free. If we win this we will go through to the first under 21’s Cup final where we’ll face either Spurs or Everton at a venue yet to be confirmed. We are involved in a group of fans pushing for a singing section and what we do could possibly be (it will be) scrutinised. Anything such as a smoke bomb could put that at risk.
